What do I wear to a Family Photo session?

Great question!

This will differ depending on the style of images that you're after. It will also depend on the location, time of year and whether you're after more posed photos or lifestyle imagery.

I have put together this style guide which is aimed at both family portrait outdoor or indoor studio sessions. I hope you find it useful!

Some quick hot tips though:

1. Mum sort your outfit out first. Much easier to start with this and work around what the rest of the family will wear based on this outfit

2. Choose colours that compliment, not necessarily match

3. Florals and some patterns are fine, but choose only one outfit with a pattern - have the rest co-ordinate with that piece. Too many patterns is too busy and will date your portraits

4. Be comfortable. Choose an outfit that you feel comfortable in.

5. Long dresses work well for both mums and daughters. You don't want to feel conscious about sitting down and pulling a short dress to ensure it covers your undergarments :)
